and conditions are the basis upon which we do business. Your continued attendance for lessons is a legally binding acceptance to all these terms. No acceptions are recognised.
We reserve the right to change these Terms & Conditions at any time.
DATA PROTECTION
We do not hold your personal details on a computer and will not forward these to any third party.
COURTESY
We will be courteous and polite.
We will make reasonable endeavours to be on time for your driving lessons.
The cars will be well maintained, clean and tidy, and are fitted with dual controls.
The cars are fully insured for driving instruction and your test.
We do not smoke.
You will get the driving instructors full attention during your driving lesson and your lesson will not be intrupted nor will you be distracted by the intructor using a mobile phone. We expect the same consideration from you.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO DRIVE
You must hold a current, valid Driving Licence (Provisional or Full), which we will ask to see at the start of your first lesson. You must also comply with the regulations for eyesight which are that you can read a number plate at a distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet) with glasses/contact lenses if normally worn.
PAYMENTS
Payment can be by cash, cheque (made out to The Driving Partnership). At our discretion you may be permitted one lesson's credit. However, all monies owing from a previous lesson must be settled at the beginning of the next lesson.
Any monies owing on the day of the driving test MUST be settled before the test starts or we will withdraw the use of the car for the test and we will not be held responsible for the loss of your test fee. There are no exceptions to this.
CANCELLATIONS & PUNCTUALITY
Please give as much notice as possible if you plan to cancel a driving lesson so that we can offer the slot to someone else. An acceptable time period for this is 2 lesson days before your sheduled lesson. We reserve the right to charge for short notice cancellations, this will be the cost of a 1 hour lesson.
We reserve the right to re-schedule your lesson in the event of breakdowns and illness, or if another pupil books a test that coincides with your lesson.
We will wait 10 minutes after the scheduled start of any lesson for you attend, if you do not arrive in this time, we will then leave, and you will then be liable for the cost of that lesson as this will be treated as a short notice cancellation and subject to the above terms.
It is also standard policy that we will not call you prior to your appointment to confirm your attendance, as it also not poicy for us to knock at your front door for your lesson.
Our instructors will make every effort to park as close to your residence or collection point as possible and it is assumed that you will be waiting for your instructors arrival.
Any failure to attend your lesson due to these issues will result in you being responsible for a cancellation penalty as stated previously.
Failure to comply with the above will result in the most appropriate cival action being taken to recover amounts outstanding.
We reserve the right to discontinue your training with us for any reason and without notice.
DAMAGE TO THE DRIVING SCHOOL CAR
In the event that an accident or damage is caused to the driving school car, regardless of the circumstances, level of supervision and accident location, the driver of the vehicle at the time is soley liable for the 1st £1000 pounds (or less).
No acceptions to this are recognised.
THE PRACTICAL TEST
We do not normally book your driving tests. The DSA system will prevent pupils from double booking us for practical tests if you provide them an ADI number at the time of booking.This can be disclosed on request.
If you book a driving test against our advice and if we consider your driving "dangerous" then in the interests of road safety we reserve the right to refuse the use of our car for the test. We will not be held responsible for any monies lost by this.
We will use reasonable endeavours to ensure the car is roadworthy on the day of the test. We will check all bulbs are operational, tyres are within legal limits, the washer is filled and there is sufficient fuel and oil on the day of the test. However, bulbs on cars can fail. We will not be held responsible for the cancellation of a test due to subsequent failure of any lights during any test.
If our car breaksdown before your test but before the DSA deadline for postponing or cancelling your test you will be advised to postpone or cancel your test should we be unable to get the car fixed before your test. If you choose not to postpone or cancel your test we will not be held reposnible for the loss of your fee. If the car breaksdown after the DSA deadline and we are unable to get it fixed by the time of your test we will refund your test fee but we will not be held reposnsible for any consequential losses resulting in your inability to take the test.
If you choose to use your own vehicle for the practical test, this must also be roadworthy, insured and conform to the conditions set by the Driving Standards Agency. We will not be held liable for any losses if these conditions are not met.
BEING ACCOMPANIED IN THE CAR
You will not normally be accompanied whilst you are on a lesson, other than by your driving instructor, but there are circumstances where you might be:-
A parent, friend or relative may accompany you during a driving lesson to see your progress and proficiency on our prior agreement.
A DSA Supervising Examiner may accompany you to check the standard of tuition you are receiving. We will ask your permission well in advance of the lesson taking place.
Your test examiner may be supervised by his superior. The supervisor will be observing the examiner, not you and the supervisor plays no part in your test result. You will be advised of this at the start of your test and you cannot refuse the supervisor accompanying you.
We will not accompany you on test unless you request it.
